A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Bill was born November 3, 1942 near West, the son of Frank J. and Mary (Novak) Nors. He attended Tokio and St. Mary's Catholic School prior to graduating from West High School in 1961, where he played football, basketball, participated in FFA and was voted Most Handsome. On October 5, 1963, he was united in marriage to Beatrice Tichavsky in Hillsboro. Bill was a farmer and worked for M&M Mars for 20 years until his retirement in 1995. He also worked for many other businesses including Tymco, Hammond Industries, West Flour Mill, Alamo Steel, Baylor University, A.O. Smith, Mosley Machinery and Connally Air Force Base. Bill was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, where he served on the Parish Advisory Board, was an usher, taught RCIA and CCE. He was also a member of the ACTS Fellowship, KJT Lodge #31, Knights of Columbus Council #2305, and Bold Springs Water Supply. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, welding, gardening, spending time outdoors and taking care of his cattle. He especially loved visiting with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John Nors; and sister, Mary Frances Juroch. Survivors include his beloved wife of 54 years, Beatrice Nors of West; his children, Richard Nors and wife Karen of West, Melissa Gerik and husband Mike of West and Melinda Muhl of Lexington; a sister, Helen Petter Vrba and husband Ray; a sister-in-law, Joyce Nors; grandchildren, Nathan and Nicole Nors, Zachary and Caleb Gerik, and Jacob and Haley Muhl; his dog, Lulu; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Nathan Nors, Jacob Muhl, James Carlile, Brian Jesco, Don Urbanovsky, Jim Lockhart, Chuck Felderhoff, Robin Waters, Frank Urbanovsky and Clark Burns. Honorary pallbearers are ACTS Fellowship and his grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to ACTS Fellowship, St. Mary's School Endowment Fund or the charity of your choice.
