Vickie Jalayne Long, age 76, of China Spring, passed away late Wednesday night, May 21, 2025 at her daughter's home.
A Memorial Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. until Noon Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery in Tours.
Vickie was born on November 16, 1948, in Baytown to Milton and Callie (Sowell) Long. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1967, where she was a cheerleader and drum major. Over the years, Vickie worked as an office manager at Frederick Air Conditioning in Houston and later at a radio station in Nacogdoches. She found great joy in spending time with her beloved dog, Peanut, and cherished every moment with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Vickie is preceded in death by her parents, and great grandchild Steffens.
Survivors include her children, Cara Ready of China Spring, and Christopher Searcy and wife Lacey of Bay City; grandchildren, Brittney Ready, Chay Jalayne, Carli Luce, Cash Luce, Cole Searcy, and Seth Searcy; a great-granddaughter, Callie Ready; great grandchildren on the way, twin baby boy and girl Teague, and baby Luce, all expected to be here in October; and many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
