Thomas Edward Niles Jr., known by most as "Tom", passed away early November 25, 2025, at the age of 83.
Born January 6, 1942, in Waco, Texas, Tom was the son of Thomas E. Niles "Tomcat" and Minnie Belle Strickland. He graduated from Waco High School with the Class of 1960 and went on to retire from the United States Air Force. In his younger days, together with his brother Jerry R. Niles, Tom was one-half of the legendary "Beagle Brothers," two inseparable boys who roamed Waco with boundless energy and endless mischief.
Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Carol Niles, the love of his life, and by his brother, Jerry.
He is survived by his children, Cheryl Heine and her husband Tim of Cele, Texas, Carol Davis, and Thomas E. Niles III and his wife Shawna of East Bernard, Texas; his grandchildren, Shelby Heine, Jami Kellogg, Jenae Daigle, David Nanny, Jakob Niles, Victoria Niles, and Wyatt Niles; five great grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Vivian Niles; and a wide circle of family and friends.
In keeping with Tom's wishes, no services are planned.
The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the caring staff at West Rest Haven and Hillcrest Hospital in Waco for their kindness and excellent care during Tom's final days.
He will be greatly missed.
