Sharon Richardson

Sharon Richardson, lovingly known to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who knew her simply as Granny, passed away peacefully on December 20th at the age of 79.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2025 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Darrel Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Bold Springs Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, December 28, 2025 at the funeral home.

Born on April 10, 1946, in McKinney, Texas, Sharon lived a life defined by love, service, and selflessness. As the oldest child, she helped her mother raise her siblings, caring for them as if they were her own. Sharon was the eldest of five siblings and remained close to them throughout her life, especially her sister Sandra, who was by her side in her final months. She found her greatest joy in time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
To so many, Sharon was more than a grandmother... she was everyone's Granny. She was a constant presence at school events, kids games, plays, vacations, and everyday moments. Wherever her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were, Granny was there tagging along, cheering, and supporting. Being with them completed her. She shared 28 beautiful years of marriage with the love of her life, Jim Richardson. It brings comfort to know she is now reunited with him once again.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Omega and Allen Busby; her beloved husband, Jim Richardson; and her siblings Shirley Parker, Gary Busby, and Danny Busby.

She is survived by her sister, Sandra Suggs; her daughters, Tonia McGaughy and husband Junior, Kimberly Moffett, and step-daughter Mary Lynn Rice; her grandchildren, Angela Sims, Kayla McGaughy, and Shelby McGaughy; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Parker and Merritt Sims, and Hayden, Riley, and Cambria Durgin; and her nephews, David Kadell Suggs and Rick Busby.

Pallbearers are David Kadell Suggs, Rick Busby, Donny Sims, Anthony Durgin, Shelby McGaughy and Hayden Durgin. Honarary Pallbearers are Parker Sims and Merritt Sims.

She will forever be remembered for her strength, her unwavering presence, and the way she always was there no matter what. She was, and always will be, our Granny.
