Shari Kacal

Shari Doreen Kacal, age 63, of Waco, passed away Friday morning, June 19, 2026 at Coryell Health Rehabilitation in Gatesville.

Memorial Graveside Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2026, at Rosemound Cemetery in Waco.

Shari was born on August 1, 1962, in San Angelo, the daughter of Robert and Martha (Tafolla) Kacal. A 1980 graduate of LaVega High School, Shari went on to leave her mark on the community through her work with several local businesses. Though her career may have defined her in small ways, it was her passions that truly showcased her spirit. An avid drawer and crafter, she poured her creativity into everything she touched. Her love for dancing lit up rooms, while her enthusiasm for playing softball spoke to her determination and love for life. An avid reader, Shari often found solace in the pages of a good book.

Shari is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Kenneth Kacal and John Kacal.

Survivors include her children, Candie Kacal-Valdez and husband Jose, of Waco, Kerry Gorman and husband John, of Axtell, Patricia Gillis and husband Nicholas, of North Carolina, Cody Harris and wife Breanna, of West, and Alexis Acton, of Austin; her grandchildren, Cameron, Kallie, Milee, Jade, Whitney, Lillie, Charlee, Johnnie, Brandon, Colton, Aiden, Wyatt, Emery, and Annistyn; brothers, Bobby Kacal and wife Joy; a sister, Carolyn Dollery and husband Kenneth; sisters-in-law, Kathy Kacal and Peggy Kacal; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her nurses at The Meadows in Gatesville and Providence Hospice.
