Rebecca Gandy

Rebecca Sue Gandy, age 82, of West, passed away late Sunday evening, May 11, 2025 at Windsor Healthcare Residence in Groesbeck.

Graveside Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 15, 2025 at China Spring Cemetery, with Rev. Michael Green officiating. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West.

Rebecca was the daughter of Hollis and Lillian (Madewell) Cunningham. She spent her formative years in Waco, where she attended local schools. Her career as a waitress connected her with the community, particularly during her time at the West Auction Barn, where she served guests with a smile and an open heart. Known for her affection towards nature, Rebecca found joy in the simple pleasures of life, often enjoying watching movies or observing the lively antics of mockingbirds and finches at her outdoor birdfeeder. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

Rebecca is preceded in death by her parents; sons, James and Roger Gandy; a daughter, Shethelia Turner; and brothers, Jackie and Jimmie Cunningham.

Survivors include her children, Margaret Green and husband Lonnie of Waco, Hope Gandy of Waco, and Katie Balentine of Olney; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great granchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
