Ray was born March 10, 1956 in Dallas. He was raised by his parents, the late Sam and Audrey Dudley in Hillsboro, where he attended local schools and nurtured a strong sense of community. On February 20, 1979, he married the love of his life, Annetta Jo Jones, beginning a partnership filled with love and adventure. Ray dedicated much of his professional life to serving as a lineman and safety manager for Pike Electric, where he was respected for his hard work and dedication to his craft. In addition to his professional pursuits, Ray found great joy in tending to his Longhorn cattle and cultivating his connection with nature, often seen riding his beloved John Deere tractor. Yet, it was in the company of his family that Ray felt most at home. He cherished every moment spent with his wife, daughter, grandchildren, and his great-granddaughter. These relationships were the cornerstone of his life, bringing him immense joy and fulfillment.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 46 years, Annetta Jo Dean; his daughter, Sabrina Jo (Dean) Cockerham; grandchildren, Kaley Cockerham and Caleb Cockerham; a great-granddaughter, Jaycee Jo Thomas; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
