Nancy was born on January 15, 1942, in Houston, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Joseph) Jamail. A proud graduate of Incarnate Word All Girls Academy High School in 1959, Nancy pursued her passion for healthcare, earning an associate's degree as an X-ray technician from the University of Incarnate Word in 1961. She served as the Radiological Director for West Community Hospital for many years, where she was known for her exceptional skill and compassionate care. Nancy also contributed her expertise at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston. On January 13, 1962, she was united in marriage to Calvin Boyd, until his passing on December 28,1999. Their partnership was characterized by deep affection and mutual support. A member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, Nancy found joy in her faith and community. She was a vibrant spirit who embraced life with open arms: whether it was playing bingo with friends, trying her luck at the casino, enjoying outings to the movie theater, shopping, playing Yahtzee, traveling to new places, or playing with her puppy, Wish. She held a special place in her heart for her family, often seen taking her granddaughter Jacy to the zoo, spoiling her only grandson Nash, playing games with Knox, helping Remi with her art work, cooking with Aden, teaching Sammi how to cook Lebanese food, and being aggravated by Scooter. Nancy's generosity knew no bounds; she gave freely to numerous charities and churches. She lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication, leaving behind a legacy that will forever resonate in the hearts of all who knew her.
Nancy is also preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Dr. Joel Frietag; and sisters, Louise Garret, Jean Boudreaux, June Brown, and Joyce Waldrop.
Nancy is survived by four children including J. C. "Scooter" Boyd and Sammi Freitag; 10 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
