Michael "Mike" Kaluza, age 67, of West, passed away late Friday evening, August 7, 2026 at Greenview Manor Nursing Home in Waco.
A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 13, 2026 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Timothy Vaverek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Mike was born May 9, 1959, in Waco, the son of Wilma (Holy) and John Kaluza Sr. He grew up in the West area, where he attended school and formed lasting memories. On November 10, 1979, Mike was united in marriage to Mary Beth Macik, in a ceremony filled with love and joy in Penelope. Together, they created a life rich with family, laughter, and shared experiences. Mike was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption and often attended services at St. Martin Catholic Church in Tours. He was also a member of the KJT Society #31 in West. Throughout his life, Mike was known for his unwavering work ethic as an owner of Kaluza Trucking and dedicated to serving various companies as a diesel mechanic, including Hack Branch Distributing in Waco. He cherished the moments spent deer hunting, camping with loved ones, fishing under sunny skies, barbequing for family and friends, and trying his luck at the casinos. Mike enjoyed nothing more than gathering with family and friends for a lively game of poker, sharing stories, hearty laughs, and creating memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Amy and Rebecca Kaluza; and a brother, Edward Kaluza Sr.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 46 years, Mary Beth Kaluza; a sister, Lillian Macik and husband David; brothers, John Kaluza Jr. and wife Patsy, Willie Kaluza, Bobby Kaluza, Anton Kaluza and wife JoAnn, and Ricky Kaluza; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Pallbearers are David Kaluza, Mark Kaluza, Keith Macik, Nathaniel Matula, Ricky Adams Jr., and Larry Mynarcik Jr.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Volunteer Ambulance Association.
