Marven Mack

Marven Kennith Mack, age 83, of West, passed away early Wednesday morning, October 15, 2025 at his residence.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at the First Baptist Church in Elm Mott, with Rev. Jeb Barr officiating.

Marven was born on January 9, 1942, in Gatesville, the son of Walter and Hildegarde (Wehmeyer) Mack. He graduated from Gatesville High School in 1960 and went on to earn both a bachelor's and master's degree in education from Tarleton State University. On June 15, 1962, he was united in marriage to Betty Mathenia in Copperas Cove. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, family, and community. A devoted member of First Baptist Church in Elm Mott, Marven served faithfully as a deacon. He was passionate about teaching and also worked as a skilled carpenter. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, restoring old pickups, and building houses, always finding joy in working with his hands and helping others.

Marven is preceded in death by his parents, and twin daughters, Carol and Carolyn Mack.

Survivors include his beloved spouse of 63 years, Betty Mack of West; children, Robin Mack of West, Renate Mack of Celina, and Robert Mack of West; grandchildren, Jazzy Weaver, Danielle Mack, Zachary Mack, Isabella Mack, and a chosen grandson, Zachary Brown; a sister, Waldean Mack; special family friend, Justin Jones; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Elm Mott.
