Marshall Craig Peterson, age 55, of Axtell, passed away Tuesday morning, August 18, 2026 at his residence.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 24, 2026 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Deacon Terry Timmons officiating. Graveside services will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday at Mount Calm Cemetery, 193 LCR 102, Mount Calm, Texas. The family will receive visitors from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Marshall was born September 19, 1970, in Hillsboro, the beloved son of Milton and Irene (Soukup) Peterson. He was a proud graduate of Penelope High School, the Class of 1989, and went on to attend TSTI, where he started his journey as a skilled diesel mechanic. Marshall dedicated many years to his craft, becoming a well-respected self-employed mechanic. Beyond his work, he loved to fish, dance, and barbecue. Known for his playful spirit, Marshall had a knack for practical jokes and always knew how to bring laughter to any gathering. His love for family was evident in everything he did; he cherished spending time with his children and his grandson, Porter.
Marshall is preceded in death by his father, Milton Peterson; grandparents, George & Albina Soukup and H.N. & Mennita Peterson; and a niece, Haley Peterson.
Survivors include his children, Dylan Peterson and wife Ryann of Mt. Calm, and Paige Peterson of Livingston; a grandson, Porter Peterson; his mother, Irene Peterson of Malone; a very special friend, Mary Jacks; brothers, Kenneth Peterson, and Matthew Peterson and wife Naomi; a sister, Kimberly Seith and husband Robert; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.
Active pallbearers are Vincent Sinkule, Robert Kris, Ronnie Reese, Chad Michum, Travis Petru, Bryan Cullens, Thomas Depolito, and Sonny Sanchez. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Waltz, Howard Petersen, John Peterson, and Colton Peterson.
