Marsha Davis

Marsha Jean Davis, age 77, of Gholson, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Ascension Providence Hospital in Waco.

The family will receive visitors from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 28, 2025 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West.

Marsha was born on March 7, 1948, in Dallas, the daughter of William and Dorothy Jean (Brown) Woodruff. Marsha's journey through life was characterized by her unwavering commitment to family, education, and her vibrant community. A proud graduate of Oak Cliff High School in 1966, Marsha continued her education at Hill Junior College in Hillsboro, where she earned an associate's degree in Criminal Justice. On June 8, 1974, she united in marriage with Jesse Davis, forming a partnership that flourished over the decades. Marsha dedicated much of her career to nurturing young minds as an Art Teacher at Brookhaven Boys Ranch and as a substitute teacher for the Gholson Independent School District. An active member of the Gholson community, Marsha was well-known for her volunteer work, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. She had a talent for cooking, sewing, and creating intricate ceramics, which brought joy to her family and friends. Marsha's selflessness and dedication to her loved ones defined her, and she took great pride in caring for others, especially her children and grandchildren.

Marsha is preceded in death by a daughter, Jessie Davis-Boyd and her parents.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Jesse Davis of Gholson; her daughter, Rose Gilmore husband Steven, of Golinda; a son-in-law, Dustin Boyd; grandchildren, Logan, Lyla, and Ralston Gilmore; sisters, Darlene Plumpe and husband Guy, and Barbara Cherenko; nieces and nephew, Candy Campbell, Cory Long and wife Andrea, and Tiffany Anderson and husband Allen; a sister-in-law, Mary Davis; a brother-in-law, John Davis; and many other relatives and friends.
