Marile Gena (Allen) Cook, age 61, of Vashti, formerly of West, passed away Wednesday morning, July 30, 2025 at her residence.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 11, 2025 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Deacon Ronnie Sykora officiating. Graveside Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Vashti Cemetery in Vashti, with Rev. Ryan Elms officiating.

Marile was born May 12, 1964, in Temple, the daughter of Jimmy and Caralou (West) Allen. She attended schools in Little River Academy and Robinson, ultimately graduating from West High School in 1982. On July 7, 1984, Marile married the love of her life, Eric Cook, in Mingus, Texas. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. She was a proud member of the SPJST Lodge #47 in Seaton and Daughters of the American Revolution. Marile embraced her role as a homemaker with passion and dedication. Her work history included valued positions at the Czech Gift Shop in West, Lewisville Hospital, and as an accountant for Rayzor Investments in Denton. Her creative spirit shone through in all she did whether cooking meals filled with love, tending to her flower garden, or meticulously preparing beautiful gift wraps. Marile had an exceptional eye for aesthetics, making Christmas a magical time in her home. A devoted grandmother, Marile found immense joy in spoiling her grandson, Travis, and tirelessly cared for her mother.

Marile is preceded in death by her father, Jimmy Allen; step-father, Neal Young; brother, Charles Allen, grandparents, J. M. and Ollie Mae West and Eva Lee and Ernest Allen; and her father-in-law, Floyd T. Cook.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 41 years, Eric Cook of Bellevue; her daughter, Cacye Cook; her grandson, Travis Ray Like; her mother, Caralou Young; brothers, James Allen and Tim Young; sisters, Linda Priddy and husband Carl, Elaine Adams and husband James, and Lori Cimber and husband Russ; like her sister, Joyce (Pechal) Kratz; many other friends including, Debbie Denson, and Teresa Downs; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Vashti Volunteer Fire Department, West Volunteer Ambulance Association, or the the charity of your choice.
