Livy Etter

Livy Barnes "L.B." Etter, age 93, of Abbott, passed away Friday evening, January 30, 2026 at his residence.

Graveside Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 5, 2026 at Hillcrest Garden of Memory in Hillsboro, with Pastor Jeremy Begges officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West.

Livy was born on May 8, 1932, in Dawson, the son of George and Erma (Woodlee) Etter. He attended school in Aquilla and Abbott. On September 23, 1955, he was united in marriage to Pauline Morgan in Waco. Pauline preceded him in death on November 7, 2024. Livy was a faithful member of Lebanon Church in Aquilla. He founded Menlow Water Supply, where he proudly served as president for 60 years. He was also employed by Certain-Teed in Hillsboro for 27 years as a truck driver and later drove a handicap van for Hillsboro Senior Ministries. Livy enjoyed farming and ranching, fishing, volunteering in his community, and anything outdoors that kept him close to the land he loved. He cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Livy is also preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Becky Sulak; brothers, John Etter and Charles Etter; and sisters, Virginia Christian, Margarette Blalock, Erma Roberts, Ann Payne, and Peggy Montgomery.

Survivors include his daughter, Rhonda Prasifka and husband Mike, of Abbott; grandchildren, Melissa Sweet and husband Brady, Aaron Prasifka and wife Ericha, and Bryan Sulak; great-grandchildren, Paylin Ainsworth, Connor Prasifka, and Elliot Prasifka; a sister, Molly Nichols and husband Loyd; a sister-in-law, Ella Morgan; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Lebanon Church near Aquilla.

The family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to his caregivers, Dianna Sessums and Judy McCartney.
