Lisa Willis

Lisa Ann (Hendrix) Willis, devoted wife, mother, daughter, and sister, age 61, of Riesel, passed away Thursday morning, August 13, 2026 at her residence.

A Memorial Service will be held 4:00 p.m.Friday, August 28, 2026 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Rev. Chris Silva officiating. A gathering to scatter her ashes at the Brazos River will follow the service.

Lisa was born September 29, 1964, in Oakland, California, the daughter of David and Leslie (Brown) Hendrix. She was a 1982 graduate of Aquilla High School where she excelled in athletics, playing all sports, including cheerleading and being nominated homecoming queen. On July 26, 1985, she married her childhood sweetheart, Bob Willis, in Waco while working at the courthouse. Lisa spent several years working as a home care giver, where her caring and compassionate nature allowed her to make a difference in the lives of others. Lisa had a special love for the mountains and enjoyed being outdoors whenever she could. She loved horses, fishing, water skiing, and animals of all kinds, but her little dog, Bonnie, held a particularly special place in her heart. She also had a love for the color purple and a passion for jewelry, enjoying the beauty and sparkle of pieces that caught her eye.

Lisa found joy in the simple things and treasured the time she spent surrounded by the people, animals, and places she loved. She will be remembered for her kind heart, her love of nature and animals, her unique sense of style, and the warmth she brought to those fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind many cherished memories that will remain in the hearts of her family and friends.

Lisa is preceded in death by her parents; her mother-in-law, Jan Willis; and her father-in-law, Dan Willis.

Survivors include her beloved spouse Bob Willis of Riesel; her sons, Casey Willis and Brady Willis; brother, Johnny Hendrix and wife Monica; sisters-in-law, Missy Cammack-McCartney and husband Gary, and Becky Oglesby; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Heart of Texas Cowboy Church.
