Lillian "Tootsie" Hannes

Lillian Rose "Tootsie" Hannes, age 95, of West, passed away early Sunday afternoon, September 6, 2026 at West Rest Haven in West.

A rosary will be recited 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 5:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 14, 2026 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant, assisted by Deacon Ronnie Sykora. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Tootsie was born September 10, 1930, in Waco, the daughter of Frank and Frances (Horsak) Lucien and grew up in a family that instilled in her the values of hard work, community, and faith. Tootsie graduated from West High School in 1948 On September 6, 1948, Tootsie married Clarence "C.W." Hannes in West, embarking on a partnership filled with love and devotion that lasted until C.W. passed away October 25, 2000. Together, they raised their large family, instilling in them the same love for family and community that guided Tootsie throughout her life. A lifelong and faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, Tootsie dedicated her time to various organizations, including the Catholic Daughters of America Court #829, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4819 Auxiliary, and the KJZT Society #11. Her commitment to service, both within her church and her community, exemplified her unwavering faith and generosity.

Tootsie's life was filled with joy and laughter. She loved watching sports, particularly cheering for the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, and the West Trojans. She also enjoyed playing dominoes, dancing, and listening to traditional Czech music, activities that brought her great happiness and connected her to her roots.

Tootsie is also preceded in death by her parents; her only son, William "Bill" Hannes; a daughter, Linda Hill; a sister, Mildred Gallia Cervenka; a brother, William Lucien; and a son-in-law, Sonny Lassiter.

Survivors include her daughters, Fran Hoggard and husband Bill, of Clifton, Sharon Lassiter, of Clifton, Sandra "Pookie" Peterson and husband Keith, of Houston; a daughter-in-law, Pam Hannes of Clifton; a son-in-law, Dennis Hill of West; grandchildren, Billy Hannes and wife Kayla, Megan Pervier and husband Ryan, Lindsay Hil, Trenton Peterson and wife Madison, and Emily Peterson; her great grandchildren, Grey, Avie, Vivie, Gage, Orion, and Lillie; sisters-in-law, Molly Gillmore and Delores Cammack; brothers-in-law, LD Hannes and Jodi Hannes; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers are Billy Hannes, Ryan Pervier, Trenton Peterson, Mike Cammack, Tim Cammack, and Pat Cammack. Honorary pallbearers are Leonard Gallia, Alan Lucien, Bobby Heine, and Heath Hannes.
