Lance Lyndell Sullins, age 55, of Abbott, passed away early Tuesday morning, December 23, 2025 at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro.
A rosary will be recited 10:00 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West.
Lance was born on January 5, 1970 in Waco, the son of the late Cecil and Virginia (Woodruff) Sullins. He grew up in Abbott and graduated from Abbott High School in 1988 before furthering his education at Texas A&M University, where he attained a Bachelor's Degree in agricultural economics. On November 20, 1993, he was united in marriage to Lanette Nors in West. Lance was a family man and found immense joy in spending quality time with his wife, children, and family. Professionally, he dedicated 27 years of his life to the United States Postal Service in Hillsboro. He was an active member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Penelope and the Texas A&M Association of Former Students, demonstrating his enduring spirit of service and connection to his community. In his spare time, Lance found fulfillment in raising cattle, supporting his beloved Aggies, cooking, and traveling to new places. He approached life with a love of adventure and a genuine appreciation for the moments spent with his family.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 32 years, Lanette Sullins of Abbott; children, Mason Sullins and wife Raven, and Morgan Sullins and fiance Dalton Slayton; granddaughter on the way, Hallie Sullins; grandson, Elwood Slayton; brother, Rick Sullins and wife Louise; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers are Jason Sullins, Aaron Sullins, Blake Kettler, Connor Sullins, Clay Nors, Clint Nors, Trent Uptmore, and Mark Pustejovsky. Honorary pallbearers are Amanda Kettler, Jillian Clifton, Mandy Sullins, and Stephanie Sullins.
In honor of his Aggie roots, the family requests that those attending the service wear maroon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Penelope or the charity of your choice.
