Kenneth Dennis Maynard, age 74, of West, passed away Tuesday morning, May 5, 2026 at Ascension Providence Hospital in Waco.

Memorial Graveside Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2026 at Salem Lutheran Cemetery near Malone, with Pastor Anthony Oncken officiating.

Kenneth was born on December 27, 1951, in Malone the son of George and Ella Mae (Monthei) Maynard. He grew up instilled with a strong work ethic and a love for the simple joys in life. A proud graduate of Abbott High School in 1970, Kenneth went on to earn an associate degree in maintenance from Texas State Technical College. His career as an Industrial Maintenance Technician was marked by dedication and skill, working for Vesuvis Industries in Hillsboro for many years, and later for Czech Stop and Slovacek's in West. Kenneth was a member of the SPJST Lodge #66 in Elm Mott. His love for the great outdoors was matched only by his passion for cooking and baking, particularly his renowned carrot cake. Kenneth was known not just for his culinary talents but for sharing them. He could often be found baking in his apartment, generously offering his creations to fellow residents, spreading joy with each slice.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald Maynard.

Survivors include his brother, Jerry Maynard and wife JoAnn; sisters, Georgia Lewis and Polly Killough; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
