Kathy Leuschner

February 27, 1958 — June 17, 2026

Katherine "Kathy" Spanos Leuschner, beloved wife, mother, Nana, and faithful follower of Jesus Christ, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on June 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

The family will receive visitors from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West. Graveside Services will be held 12:00 noon Wednesday, at St. Paul Memorial Park in Crawford, with Brother Howard Jackson officiating.

Kathy was born on February 27, 1958, in Waco, the daughter of Nick and Dorothy (Zapalac) Spanos. She attended Richfield High School and spent her life in the communities she loved. After starting her family, she settled in Crawford, where she devoted herself to raising her children. Later, she lived in Robinson before retiring to her cherished home on the Brazos River in Gholson.

Kathy's greatest joy was her family. Her favorite role in life was being a mother and Nana, and she loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart. She treasured every opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments, spend time together, and create lasting memories. Kathy was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Vernon. Together they shared a passion for adventure, traveling the country on their Harley-Davidsons and exploring nearly every state. She also loved horseback riding, trail rides with friends, gardening, and spending time outdoors enjoying God's creation.

Above all, Kathy loved the Lord. Her faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life. Through daily prayer, devotion, and unwavering trust in God, she inspired those around her with her strength, kindness, and steadfast faith. Kathy never met a stranger and will be remembered for her warm heart, generous spirit, adventurous nature, and deep love for family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nick L. Spanos and Dorothy J. Spanos of Crawford.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Vernon; her son, Robert "Bobby" Spanos and grandsons Kameron and Korbin; her daughter, Nicole Spanos Lawrie and husband Jason, and their children Gracie, Mia, and Brody; her son, Christopher Spanos and wife Nicole Fortenberry Spanos, and their children Ashlyn and Hunter; her stepdaughter, Lexie Vasser and husband Jarod Vasser, and their daughter Madison Brown and husband Trey Brown and their child Otto; her stepdaughter, Chazie Pennington and husband JD Pennington, and their sons Tre and LD; along with many extended family members and dear friends.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers and staff of Visiting Angels, especially Cindy, for the compassion, dignity, and friendship they provided Kathy, as well as the dedicated team at Providence Hospice - Community Healthcare of Texas for their unwavering support and care.Though our hearts are broken, we rejoice in knowing that Kathy is now with Jesus, the Savior she loved and trusted so faithfully.
