Karla J. (Hoelscher) Dulock, age 61, of West, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2026 at Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest in Waco.
A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 17, 2026 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Timothy Vaverek as celebrant, assisted by Deacon Ronnie Sykora and Deacon Robin Waters. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel.
Karla was born on January 4, 1965, in Waco, the daughter of Eugene and Mattie (Riggs) Hoelscher. Raised in West, Karla was a proud graduate of West High School, Class of 1983. She was a vibrant spirit known for her infectious laughter and love for life. She spent many years serving as a clerk for David Pareya, Justice of the Peace for Precinct 3, and also worked at Pareya's Package Store, West Furniture Company, and Texas State Technical College. Her commitment to her community showed through her involvement as a board member for the West Chamber of Commerce and as a council member for the City of West. Karla was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. She loved playing "42" dominoes and Booray, and she found joy in weekends spent by the lake or on the beach. An avid music lover, her playlists proudly featured Janis Joplin, The Carpenters, Jimmy Buffet, and Willie Nelson. Karla had a knack for making her famous party mix and dressing for Thanksgiving gatherings, always bringing her family together for the holidays. Her greatest joy was spending time with her daughter, Rachel, showering her nieces and nephews with love and thoughtful gifts, and enjoy time with her friends being the life of the party.Karla is preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, Daryl Ayers.Survivors include her daughter, Rachel Dulock and her soon-to-be husband Jordan Moore; her twin brother, Keith Hoelscher and wife Karen, along with sisters and brothers, Pamela Pape and husband Steve, Karen Ayers, Cheryl Hoelscher, Phyllis Kamm and husband Rocky, Phillip Hoelscher and wife Arlene, Mark Hoelscher, and Daryl Hoelscher and wife Dana; the father of Rachel, Joey Dulock; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.Pallbearers are Dillon Hoelscher, Ethan Ayers, Dalton Hoelscher, Jake Sparks, Ian Kamm, Adam Grier, Jeremy Jones and Justin Jones.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Aderhold Funeral Home to help the family with funeral expenses.
