Born on July 10, 1941 in West, John was the son of Frank and Mary (Hynek) Polansky. He was a proud member of the West community, where he was known for his hard work and dedication to the land he loved. John attended St. Mary's School and proudly cultivated a life rooted in agriculture as a farmer and rancher. On November 24, 1962, he was united in marriage to Nancy Grones, with whom he shared a deep and enduring love. Together, they raised three children: Michael, Elaine, and Steve, instilling in them the values of hard work, faith, and family. John cherished spending time with his grandchildren as they brought joy into his life. A long-time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, John found solace in his faith and was also a member of KJT #31 in West. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially working around the house, fishing, and listening to polka music.

John is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Frank Polansky, Jr.
