John J. Polansky, age 88, of West, passed away Thursday evening in a Waco hospital. Visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Kotch Funeral Home in West. Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. Sunday followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church of the Assumption in West; with Rev. Ed Karasek, as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mr. Polansky was born December 30, 1918 in West and had lived in the West area all of his life. He was a farmer and rancher, member of St. Mary's Church of the Assumption, St. Anne's Altar Society, and KJT Society #31. He married Christine Pustejovsky on November 4, 1941 at West. Mr. Polansky was preceded in death by his parents John and Mary Polansky, a brother Frank Polansky, a daughter-in-law Evelyn Soukup Polansky, grandchildren, Joseph and Mary Mach, a great-granddaughter, Jamie Leann Jares and a grand-son-in-law, Greg Jares. He is survived by his wife, Christine Polansky of West; four sons, Joe Polansky and wife Lillian, John H. Polansky, Robert Polansky and wife Elizabeth, Bill Polansky and wife Josephine all of West; six daughters, Annie Mach and husband Robert of Mart, Georgia Hutyra and husband Robert, Christine Mynarcik and husband Jerry, Frances Nors and husband George, Mary Lucien and husband Ron all of West and Janie Bottoms and husband Wade Jr. of Speegleville; a brother Adolph Polansky and wife Frances of West, thirty grandchildren, twenty seven great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Robert James Mach, Joe A. Polansky, Rodney Hutyra, John Mynarcik, George Nors Jr., Greg John Polansky, Jason Lucien, Robert Polansky Jr., Paul Mach, Tommy Polansky, David Polansky, Michael Hutyra, Aaron Lucien, Kevin Polansky, Daniel Polansky, Kenneth Mynarcik, Mark Mynarcik, Bill Polansky and Christopher Olson. Honorary pallbearers will be all of his granddaughters. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Parish Center or to a charity of your choice.
