Joe Helona

Joseph "Joe" Frank Helona, age 85, of West, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2026 at Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Hospital in Waco.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2026 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Deacon Terry Timmons officiating.

Joe was born September 16, 1941 in Abbott, the son of Frank and Mary (Parma) Helona. He was a 1960 graduate of Abbott High School and continued his education at Hill Junior College in Hillsboro and the University of North Texas in Denton. Joe was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott. Throughout his career, Joe dedicated his professional talents to the field of sales and marketing, where he put his knowledge and experience to work over the years. Joe enjoyed reading, but most especially cherished the time he spent with his mother. He was devoted to her care and treasured the many moments they shared together.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Johnny Helona and Raymond Helona.

Survivors include his sister, Lillian "Lil" Tufnell and husband John, of Frisco; sisters-in-law, Pat Helona and Mary Ann Helona; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
