JoAnn Josephine Dubiel, age 79, of Carrollton, passed away Friday, November 14, 2025 at her residence.
A rosary will be recited 5:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Friday, November 21, 2025 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Timothy Vaverek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
JoAnn was born on July 1, 1946, in West, the daughter of George and Rosie (Gerik) Lednicky. A proud graduate of West High School in 1964, JoAnn further pursued her passion for beauty by attending Truman Beauty School in Waco. For over 30 years, she worked as a dedicated cosmetologist in many areas, including Main Street Salon in Lewisville, where she touched the lives of many through her artistry and warmth. On September 19, 1989, JoAnn married the love of her life, Donald Dubiel, who preceded her in death on January 20, 2009. Together, they created a home filled with love and laughter. JoAnn was a proud member of St. Philip The Apostle Catholic Church in Flower Mound and the KJZT St. Lumila Society #11. JoAnn was passionate about life and embraced every moment with grace. She found joy in swimming, water aerobics, walking, and her cherished time spent cooking and baking for family and friends. Among her greatest treasures were her family, especially her grandchildren, whose sporting events brought her immense joy.
JoAnn is also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Larry, Robert, Bernard, and Raymond Lednicky; and an infant sister, Rose Mary Gerik.
Survivors include her daughter, Misty Strickland and husband Gregg, of Carrollton; her precious grandsons, Blake Strickland and Bryce Strickland; sisters-in-law, Nicole Lednicky, Sylvia Lednicky, and Frances Lednicky; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Pallbearers are Gregg Strickland, Bryce Strickland, Blake Strickland, Patrick "Paco" Lednicky, and David Lednicky.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
