Jeanette Urbanovsky

Jeanette Marie (Nors) Urbanovsky, age 75, of Aquilla, passed away Thursday morning, September 11, 2025, leaving a legacy of love and service in her community.

A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 18, 2025 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott, with Msgr. Henry Petter as celebrant and Rev. Thomas Jones as con-celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in West.

Jeanette was born on August 9, 1950, in Waco, the daughter of John and Emily (Gerich) Nors, Jeanette was raised in West and graduated from West High School in 1968. She went on to study at 4-C Business College in Waco, eventually building a fulfilling career in Human Resources with Killeen Independent School District, Monterey Peninsula Schools in California, and finally Waco Independent School District, where she dedicated 37 years before retiring in June 2011. After her retirement she worked for Slovacek's in West and Latham Springs Camp Retreat Center in Aquilla. On May 22, 1971, Jeanette married Frank Urbanovsky in West. Together, they built a life filled with devotion to family and faith. A committed member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott, Jeanette played an active role in her parish, serving on the Parish Council and as a religious education teacher for the CCD Classes. She was also involved with the West Women's Acts Team and was a former President of the KJZT Society #104 in Abbott, showcasing her commitment to community service. Jeanette also managed to help Frank with their farm, in her "spare time". Well known for her delicious cooking and her love for Czech music, Jeanette spent countless joyful moments with her family, particularly her beloved grandchildren. During the 2020 COVID 19 pandemic, Jeanette homeschooled five of her grandchildren all at different grade levels - age 2, 1st grade, 3rd grade, 5th grade, and 7th grade - all with the help of her wooden "spoon of education".

Jeanette is preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Edwin Nors and his wife, Yvonne and Thomas Nors.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 54 years, Frank Urbanovsky of Aquilla,; her children, Amanda Wright of San Antonio, Tamara Harrison of Aquilla, and Andrew Urbanovsky and his wife Megan of Aquilla; her grandchildren, Kaylee Rape, Reagan Wright, Ashlyn Wright, Peyton Jubela, Tracen Harrison, Brexley Harrison, Axton Urbanovsky, Kylan Urbanovsky, and Brycen Urbanovsky; a brother, Robert "Bob" Nors and wife Georgie; brothers-in-law, Richard Urbanovsky and wife Robin, and Ted Urbanovsky and wife Karen; sisters-in-law, Edith Vick, Mary Lou Smith and husband Charley, Joyce Stewart and husband Wayne, Helen Szabuniewicz and husband Jean-Michael, and Teresa Nors; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Pallbearers are Reagan Wright, Tracen Harrison, Axton Urbanovsky, Bobby Nors, Greg Nors, Thomas Nors, Jr., Aaron Urbanovsky, and Bret Eikenhorst.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott, Aquilla Volunteer Fire Department, or Providence Hospice.
