Jim Girard

James "Jim" Peter Girard, 69, passed away unexpectedly on April 16, 2026 at his home in West.

Private services will be held at a later date.

A long time resident of West, Jim was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and attended schools in Virginia and Mannheim, Germany, graduating from Robert E. Lee High School in Springfield, Virginia.

Jim was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and worked for Sykora Ford from 1988 until his retirement in 2024. He enjoyed range shooting, hunting, and was a voracious reader of history.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Henry John and Cressie (Maxwell) Girard; and brother, John M. Girard. He is survived by brothers, Richard D. and PJ Girard, Douglas and Cindy Girard; a sister, Barbara Girard and Robert Nay; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins - all who were an important part of his life.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the West Fire or Police Departments.
