IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Heidi Marie
Hills
February 18, 1958 – November 17, 2025
Heidi Marie Hills, age 67, of West, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, November 17, 2025, at her home, surrounded by the love and presence of her family. She left this world gently, with a soft smile, carried into God's arms just as she lived her life: quietly, gracefully, and with unshakable strength.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
Heidi was born on February 18, 1958, in York, Pennsylvania, to Charles Knoke and Mary Ann Porta. After graduating from Tonkawa High School in Oklahoma in 1976, she poured her strong work ethic and steady determination into everything she touched. Whether she was serving her community through cleaning services for the City of West and the West Post Office, or sharing her warmth and dedication at The Village Bakery, where she worked for over a decade, Heidi left an unmistakable mark. She was Mimi's right hand, a trusted friend, and part of the heartbeat of the bakery family.
Heidi lived life with authenticity and a quiet spark that made her unforgettable. She found peace in nature, comfort in old black-and-white movies, joy in music, and delight in a little kitchen dancing. She had a personality entirely her own - gentle yet strong, private yet deeply loving, humble yet full of humor. She embraced life on her own terms, and she will be remembered for her independence, her strength, and her ability to love without fanfare but with unwavering loyalty.
Most of all, Heidi cherished her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and she was proud of each of them. Her favorite saying, "Fly like an eagle," became a symbol of both her love and her legacy. Those four words captured the way she encouraged others to rise above their challenges, find their courage, and trust the wind beneath their wings.
Heidi is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Don Knoke.
She is survived by her children, Adriene Robins, Shanna Robins, and Thomas Hills; grandchildren, Shyla Robins, Jasmine Robins, Heather Ivy, Jason "Bubba" Ivy, Harley Yates, Dylan Morgan, and Dwayne Hills; great-grandchildren, Alara Robins, Winter Robins, Aaron Liles, Braxton Owen, and Christopher Liles; her brother, Kevin Knoke; sisters, Margie AuBuchon, Suzie Cunningham, Annette Rollér, and Jennifer Southard; her beloved furbabies, Sadie and Sonny; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives, and friends. A special place in her heart was held for her lifelong friend, Gary Lester, whose faithful friendship meant more to her than words could ever express.
Her family honors her now with her own signature blessing:
"Peace, love, happiness, and fly like an eagle."
And in true Heidi fashion: please, no hot dogs are to be eaten in her memory.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Paws Place Rescue, Inc. in Whitney, Texas, and to Providence Hospice.
