Gloria Young

Gloria Ann (Fogle) Young, age 78, of Abbott, passed away late Tuesday night, June 10, 2025 at West Rest Haven.

A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Rev. Terry McElrath officiating. A Graveside Service will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Gloria was born October 20, 1946 in Waco, the Daughter of Guy and Dorothy (Philley) Fogle. She attended schools in Waco and graduated from 4-C College with an associate degree in business. Gloria worked for many years as a telephone switchboard operator for Providence Hospital. She enjoyed crafting, decorating for the holidays (especially Christmas), cooking, drinking her Dr. Pepper, and taking care of others. Gloria loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Gloria is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Guy Fogle Jr and Jimmy Fogle.

Survivors include her children, Donald Young and wife Susan of Waco, Paula Veselka and husband Richard of Abbott, and Amanda Benavidez and husband Carlos of Waco; sisters-in-law, Jeanie Fogle, Judy Grier, and Diane Davis; grandchildren, Amber Leija and husband Fabian, Joshua Young, Matthew Veselka and husband Armando Hernandez, Brianna Cowart and husband James, Justin Veselka, Lindsey Robinson and husband Dylan, and Brandon Benavidez; great grandchildren, Joceline Arroyo and Charlie Ann Robinson; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are Brandon Benavidez, Justin Veselka, Matthew Veselka, Joshua Young, Armando Hernandez, James Cowart and Dylan Robinson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of North Central Texas.

The family would like to thank the employees at West Rest Haven who loved and cared for her during her stay as a resident.
