Gloria Sue Elliott Bollier, age 85, of Gholson, Texas, passed away Wednesday morning, February 4, 2026.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 6, 2026 at Gholson Cemetery.
Gloria was born on September 9, 1941, in Tyler, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter J. Elliott, former Sergeant Major with the Texas Highway Patrol, and Gladys Elliott Estes. Gloria's special bond with her dad was present even in her death.
She married the love of her life, James Lillard Bollier, on June 6,1982, and they were married for 20 years. Jim was her person, and his passing left an unfilled void in her life. Together they built a life grounded in hard work, mutual respect, and a shared love for animals and the farm they called home.
Gloria is survived by her son, Wade White and wife Stefanie of Gholson; her stepsons, Johnny Bollier of Austin, and Jimmy Bollier of Arizona; and her grandson, Austin Wade White of Lorena. They were all affectionately known as "her boys".
During her professional career, Gloria worked as a radial interventionist, including time working with Dr. Avant, Dr. Flowers, and at the former West Community Hospital. Later in life, she turned her lifelong love of horses and her medical skills into a second career and retirement passion. Alongside Jim, she operated Bollier Paint Horses, a stud farm that was as much a labor of love as it was a business. It attracted clients from across the United States with American Quarter Horse Association bloodlines. Gloria prided her studs with the equal depths of pride she held for her sons. She had a wonderfully dry sense of humor, said exactly what she meant, and had little patience for unnecessary fluff. She was simple, direct, and deeply caring, with a sharp wit that kept those around her laughing.
Gloria would not want tears or solemn faces. She would want smiles, laughter, and stories shared-especially the good memories made on the farm. Remember her with a laugh, a fond story, and the kind of smile that comes from knowing you were lucky to have known her.
The family extends their sincere gratitude to West Rest Haven and Brookdale - Lakeshore for their compassionate care and kindness.
