Glen McCarty

Glen Roland McCarty, age 79, of West, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2026 at Providence Hospital in Waco.

A Graveside Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2026 at Prairie Grove Cemetery near Aquilla, with Edward Smith officiating. The family will receive visitors from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West.

Glen was born January 2, 1947 in Houston, the son of the late Clyde and Virgia (Earnest) McCarty. He was a 1965 graduate of West High School and attended Hill Junior College. Glen proudly served in the United States National Guard, where he cultivated a lifelong passion for engineering, ultimately dedicating his career to military design as a self-employed engineer. His keen intellect and innovative spirit led him to enjoy working on old cars, delving into the worlds of reading, drawing, and designing, as well as capturing life's moments through photography.

Survivors include his sister, Patricia McFarland and husband Allan; daughters, Shannon Hartlep and Debbie Ferrell; granddaughter, Celia Wynn-Gould; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Prairie Grove Cemetery Association.
