Eldon Pavelka, Sr.

Eldon James Pavelka Sr., age 91, of West, passed away early Saturday morning, January 8, 2022 at Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Hospital in Waco. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday January 12, 2022 at the Aderhold Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Deacon Ronnie Sykora officiating. Graveside Services will follow at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Pavelka Cemetery near Elk. Eldon was born September 13, 1930 in Mart, the son of Willie and Vlasta (Adamek) Pavelka. He attended schools in Mart and Riesel, where he excelled in football. On October 29, 1949 he was united in marriage to Dorothea Glaser in Buckholts. Eldon was a farmer and worked for General Tire and Rubber Company for over 36 years before retiring in 1985. He enjoyed farming, raising cattle, gardening, woodworking and being with his family - especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of SPJST Lodge #6. He always had a great positive attitude and was willing to help for just the asking. Eldon was a great husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and mentor. He will be greatly missed. Eldon is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Eldon Pavelka Jr.; brothers, Charlie Pavelka, Edwin Pavelka, and Robert Pavelka; and a sister, Willie Mae Veselka. Survivors include his beloved wife of 72 years, Dorothea Pavelka of West; a son, Mark Pavelka and his wife Lisa of West; a daughter-in-law, Marlene Pavelka of Round Rock; his adoring grandchildren, Amber Pavelka, Crystal Pavelka, Eldon Pavelka III and his wife Chrystina, and Brooks Pavelka; one great grandson Eldon Lee Pavelka and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Kirk Wines, Brad Wines, Paul Pavelka, Kevin Chupik, Billy Pavelka, Ernest Bezdek, Jr., and Randy Pavelka In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to charity of your choice.
