Dr. Stanley Manax

Dr. Stanley Joseph Manax passed away peacefully in London, Ontario on October 30, 2026.

Stan was born on Sept. 7, 1933, in London to Ettie and John Manax, the second youngest of 6 children. He attended the University of Western Ontario where he earned a Masters degree in Neurophysiology followed by a Doctor of Medicine degree. He completed his surgical residencies in Detroit, MI and Minneapolis, MN before returning to London to commence his career as a Surgeon. He spent 10 years of his career in Texas.

Stan was very well respected by the medical community and much appreciated by his patients who would approach and praise him when encountering him out in the community with his family.

An avid sports fan, he loved watching the Leafs and Blue Jays and would often call a daughter to find out which TV channel was broadcasting the game that night. He was an art collector who loved music, delighted in telling funny stories, and enjoyed the theatre, holding annual season tickets to the Stratford Festival. He was very generous and donated to dozens of charities each year. But most of all, he loved his daughters, grandchildren and extended family.

Stan is survived by his daughters; Lisa (Anargyros), Kristin (Mark) and Jennifer; grandchildren Joshua (Megan), Sarah, Benjamin, Rachael (Kieran), Jonathan and Kaitlin; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings and best friends; Athena (Bill), Barbara, Helen, John (Sharon) and Bill.

The family would like to thank the staff at Grand Wood Park Retirement for their care of Stan.

A private family service was held at the LOGAN-EVANS FUNERAL HOME, 371 Dundas St., London, Ontario, with interment in Woodland Cemetery, London.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Children's Make-A-Wish Foundation.
