Doris Mae (Roznovsky) Pibil, age 93, of Abbott, passed away early Thursday afternoon, September 25, 2025 at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro.

Doris was born in Hill County near Penelope, on September 4, 1932, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Matus) Roznovsky. Doris graduated from Penelope High School in 1949 and further pursued her studies at Texas State Technical College and McLennan Community College. On November 7, 1949, she married the love of her life, Albert Pibil, in Penelope. Their union spanned over six decades until Albert's passing in October 2011. Her faith in the Catholic Church guided Doris throughout her life. She was a member of KJZT Society #11, RVOS Lodge #46, and the McLennan/Hill Czech Heritage Society, where she enjoyed connecting with her heritage and community. In her professional life, Doris served as a secretary at the Veterans Regional Center and the Social Security Office in Waco for many years. Doris had an appreciation for nature, finding joy in gardening and landscaping. She also enjoyed painting and working on jigsaw puzzles, activities that brought her peace and creative expression.
Doris is also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Mark Pibil; and a brother, Albin Roznovsky.
Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Mynar and husband Joe; a nephew, Mike Roznovsky; nieces, Shirley Blanchard and Patsy Makovy; and many other relatives and friends.
