David JL Adams

David JL Adams, age 74, of West, passed away Saturday morning, August 15, 2026 at Lakeshore Village Healthcare Center in Waco.

Per David's wishes, no services will be held.

David was born September 7, 1951, in Taft, California, the son of William and Margaret Adams. He was a 1969 graduate of Taft High School and later earned an Associate of Arts degree from Taft College. On February 26, 1990, he married Myra Shirley, in Las Vegas, Nevada, beginning a marriage filled with many cherished memories. David proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1971 to 1974 during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he devoted more than 10 years to working in maintenance at the Doris Miller Department of Veterans Affairs in Waco. David found enjoyment in the simple things in life. He loved collecting baseball cards, watching his favorite sports, fishing, and tending to his chickens. But above all, David treasured his family. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, making memories with them and enjoying the happiness they brought to his life. His love for his family and the simple joys he found each day will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

David is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Andrew Adams; and a sister, Sue Holt.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Myra Adams; children, John Keys and Thomasina Howard and husband Robert, all of West, Clif Craig and wife Charlie, of Houston; grandchildren, Brent Keys, Kaleb Keys, Mason Howard, Elizabeth Howard, Kylee Craig, Marcus Adams, and one on-the-way; nephew, Tory Holt and wife Michelle; and several other relatives and friends.
