Darlene Baker, loving wife and mother, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2026, peacefully among her family in Aquilla, at the age of 84. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Charles Richard Baker and her two children, all of whom were by her side.

A Graveside Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at China Spring Cemetery.

Darlene was born on April 13, 1942, in Marfa, Texas, to the late William "Bill" and Viola "Tootsie" (Shaw) Pogue. She grew up in a close-knit family and received her education in Gholson and West before embarking on a lifelong journey dedicated to her family. On May 20, 1961, Darlene was united in marriage to her lifelong love, Charles Baker, at the Wesley Chapel United Mehodist Church in Gholson. Together, they built a loving home filled with energy and laughter. Darlene was a devoted homemaker, raising her children with an abundance of love and support. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she took immense pride in being a young, active, and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Darlene was known for her spirit and enthusiasm for life. She had a passion for traveling with Charles, and the adventures they shared created lasting memories. A spirited and talented player of 42, she enjoyed game nights with family and friends, where her competitive spirit always shined through.

Survivors include her beloved husband Charles Baker of Aquilla; children, Tammy Charlene Kennedy and William Charles Baker; grandchildren, Nathan Baker and Ashley Baker; great-grandchildren, Dejia Baker, Elisha Baker, and Ryder Baker; and many other relatives and friends.
