Daniel "Dan" Webb, age 69, of West, passed away late Tuesday evening, July 1, 2025 at West Rest Haven in West.
Memorial Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Rev. James Stevens officiating. The family will receive visitors from 10:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Dan was born December 29, 1955 in Waco, the son of Daniel Matus and Frances (Sulak) Zeptner. He attended primary school in West before moving to Arlington. After attending Sam Houston High School, Dan began his career in the polyurethane industry in Arlington where he supplied parts for Six Flags. Later, he was co-owner of, and plant manager for Elastech, a former polyurethane business in Humble, TX. He was very proud of the work he accomplished and enjoyed connecting with business associates around the world. Dan retired from the industry in Oklahoma City, OK.
Dan was a man of diverse interests with a strong desire to know and learn many things. He had a passion for life through reading, writing poetry, journaling his thoughts, taking photographs that captured life's fleeting moments with an artist's eye, and spending time with his many friends. He was a lover of technology who enjoyed collecting gadgets and staying updated with the latest advancements. His appreciation for rock and roll music provided a soundtrack to his life, and he found joy in growing plants and nurturing nature. Dan's life was filled with enthusiasm, encouragement, hope, and spirit. He smiled often and loved deeply.
Dan is preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Louis Lynn Webb; and a brother, William "Billy" John Webb.
Survivors include his children, Vanessa (Webb) Mattox of Kentucky, Amy (Webb) Spalding and Andrew Derkowski of Kingwood; Daniel Webb Jr. and wife Cassi of Roanoke, Devin Webb of San Antonio; his grandchildren Michael Mattox, Zachary Mattox, Daniel Mattox, Lily Spalding, and Emily Spalding; and siblings, Sandy (Matus) Webb of Fort Worth, Debra "Deb" (Webb) Garza and husband Daniel of Lometa, Wesley Matus and wife Maggie of San Antonio, and Greg Matus of West; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Volunteer Ambulance Association.
