Cody William Bartosh

Cody William Bartosh, age 57, of Joshua, passed away Thursday evening, March 2, 2023 at his residence.


A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with Rev. Will Straten as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery.


Cody was born March 4, 1965 in Arlington, the son of Ernest "E.J." and Virginia (Straten) Bartosh. He was a 1983 graduate of Diamond Hill - Jarvis High School in Fort Worth. He worked as a machinist for many years and most recently at Scout Surface Solutions in Blum. Cody was married to Dolly Bartosh for several years and had three children together. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, grilling and taking care of animals; especially the dogs, Rex and Gumbo. He was a sports fan and liked the Texas Rangers, NASCAR, UT Longhorn football and the Denver Broncos. Cody cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and attending their events. He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Burleson.


Cody is preceded in death by his brother, Van Edward Bartosh; and grandparents, Rosie (Mynar) Bartosh, George Straten Sr., and Agnes (Podsednik) Straten.


Survivors include his parents, E.J. and Virginia Bartosh of Joshua; three children, Joseph Bartosh and Leslie Thumma of Arlington, Andrew Bartosh and Chelsi McCreary of Venus, and Hillary and Zach James of Weatherford; two sisters, Sherry Bartosh and San Juan Becera, and Sonya and Jamie Flores; grandchildren, Cameron Bartosh, Eli Bartosh, and a granddaughter on-the-way; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.


Pallbearers are Mark Mynar, Eric Gonzalez, Trey McCreary, Austin Becera, Ethan Flores, and Matthew Flores.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
