Charles Barnes, age 72, of Chalk Bluff, passed away early Sunday morning, October 24, 2010 at his residence. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at the New Bethel Cemetery in DeQueen, Arkansas. Mr. Barnes was born February 21, 1938 in DeQueen, AR, the son of Richard H. and Willie Mae (Cox) Barnes. He attended DeQueen schools and graduated from DeQueen High School in 1956. Charles was an entrepreneur and enjoyed riding his motorcycle and singing. He was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. Survivors include his wife Samye Hill Barnes of Austin; a daughter, Kenita Fendley and husband Richard of Cut-n-Shoot; four sons, Loyd Barnes and wife Patsy of Dale, Mark Barnes of Austin, Matthew Barnes and wife Robyn of Chalk Bluff, and Jonathan Barnes of Kennedy; a step-daughter, Pamela Spiegel and her husband Daniel of Austin; four brothers, Gary Barnes, Kenneth Barnes and Royal Barnes, all of Hollister, CA, and Richard Barnes of Marion, OR; six sisters, Nelda Saucedo of Waco, Nola Honeycutt of Longview, Jerry Hall of Colorado Springs, CO, Jenny Lou House of DeQueen, AR, and Kathy Barnes and Diane Barnes, both of Hollister, CA; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Christian Motorcycle Association or Gideon's International.
