Robert James "Bobby" Kaluza, age 72, of West, passed away Saturday morning, August 15, 2026 at Greenview Manor Nursing Home in Waco.
Memorial Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Deacon Robin Waters officiating. Private burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive visitors from 1:00 until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
Bobby was born August 22, 1953 in Waco, the son of Wilma (Holy) and John Kaluza Sr. He attended West schools. Bobby was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West and a member of the KJT Society #31. He mixed fertilizer formulas by memory for 37 years at West Chemical and Fertilizer Company. Bobby enjoyed barbecuing, relaxing on the swing at home, gambling, especially playing poker and pestering his favorite dog, "Smouch". He played the bass guitar for several local bands including The Kaluza Polka Band and Billy Uptmor and The Makers. He loved spending time with his family and his longtime farmer friends.
Bobby is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Mike Kaluza and Edward Kaluza Sr.
Survivors include his sister, Lillian Macik and her husband David; brothers, John Kaluza Jr. and wife Patsy, Willie Kaluza, Anton Kaluza and wife JoAnn, and Ricky Kaluza; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Volunteer Ambulance Association.
