Bobby Allen

Bobby Gene Allen, age 72, of West, passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 18, 2026 at Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest Hospital in Waco.

The family will welcome visitors 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Autley's Bar located at 788 T.M. West Parkway, West, TX 76691.

Bobby was born on November 28, 1953, in the charming town of Bury St Edmunds, England, the son of Otis and Sheila (Cross) Allen. After the family moved to Texas, he graduated from West High School in 1972. Bobby developed into a talented artist whose creativity breathed life into the streets of his hometown of West. His murals and paintings grace beloved local spots, from St. Mary's Catholic Church, to St. Martin's Catholic Church, to nearby restaurants and bars. Bobby's art told stories that captured the spirit of the community, making him a cherished fixture in the town he called home. He was more than an artist, he was a vibrant soul who loved to play dominoes, care for horses, and listen to 'good ole rock and roll' or a great old country artist. His warm presence, quick wit, and hearty laugh brought people together, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him. He loved visiting with friends over a cold beer and sharing tall tales.

Bobby is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Barbara Sue Allen.

Survivors include his sister, Carol Mariott and husband Randy of Houston; brother, Terry Allen and wife Michele of West; niece and nephews, Angela, Wesley, and Russell; and many other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Volunteer Ambulance Association or the charity of your choice.
