Billy Buchanan was born on March 18, 1951, in Hillsboro to Marcus and Alice (Copeland) Buchanan. He graduated from Aquilla High School with the Class of 1970. On November 17, 1973, he married Lea Ann Kasberg at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, beginning a marriage that spanned more than five decades. A devoted member of St. Martin's Catholic Church, Billy generously shared his time in service to his parish as a member of the St. Martin's Parish Council and the Tours Hall Board. He was also a member of RVOS Marek Lodge No. 47. Billy spent 24 years as a salesman with Martin Linen Supply before beginning the next chapter of his career at Richard Karr Motors. There, he became a familiar face, valuing the friendships he made and the relationships he built over the years. He took pride in helping people and remained with Richard Karr Motors until his retirement in 2010. Nothing brought Billy greater happiness than being with his family. He treasured every opportunity to spend time with his children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter, creating memories they will forever hold dear. Outside of family, he had a passion for powerlifting, both as a competitor and as a respected judge at powerlifting competitions, where he enjoyed encouraging athletes and supporting the sport he loved.
