Barbara Jane Grider

Barbara Jane Grider, age 74, of Waco, passed away early Friday morning, August 24, 2018 at Providence Hospice Place in Waco. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Larry Wymore officiating. Burial will follow at Gholson Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 1:00 pm until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Barbara was born January 14, 1944 in Houston, the daughter of Marcus and Rose (Gilbert) Reid. She attended school in Corpus Christi. On October 2, 1985 she was united in marriage to Joseph Grider in Moriarty, NM. Joseph preceded her in death on March 18, 2008. She was a homemaker. Barbara was a member of First Baptist Church of Gholson. She enjoyed collecting things, visiting with friends and traveling. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Barbara is also preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Jeanette Hryhorchuk and Joyce Hilmer. Survivors include children, Lizabeth Goetz and husband Mark and Samuel O. Matthews and wife Karen, all of West; a sister, Fannie Clause; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Samuel O. Matthews, Mark Goetz, Dustin Matthews, Joseph Matthews, Brian Matthews, Austin Wallace, Jon Blackmon, Tim Hryhorchuk, Mark Weager and Brian Voison.
