Delton Alden Kimmey, age 83, of West, passed away early Memorial Day morning, May 27, 2024 at his residence.
Graveside services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2024 at Bold Springs Cemetery near West with Rev. Terry McElrath officiating. Military Graveside Rites will follow conducted by West Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive visitors from 2:00 p.m. until service time, Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West.
Alden was born June 16, 1940 in Galveston, the son of the late Delton and Opal (Minyard) Kimmey. He was a 1959 graduate of Milby High School in Houston prior to attending Lamar Tech University in Beaumont. Alden proudly served his country with the United States Army during the Cold War before being honorably discharged in 1966. After being discharged from the army, Alden worked for South Houston Lumber Company and Gifford Hill Concrete before going into the banking business. He worked for the First Bank and Trust Company in Cedar Hill for 25 years before retiring as president and CEO. Upon his retirement in 2000, Alden moved to West where he has resided on his ranch for the past 24 years. Alden enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising cattle, and having a beer with friends. He also loved spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his children, Wayne Scott Kimmey of West, Laura Elizabeth Kimmey of Cedar Hill, and Delton Alden Kimmey, Jr. of Cedar Hill; sister, Dana Kimmey of Pearland; other relatives and friends.
Honorary pallbearers are Ralph Pustejovsky, Bill Crawshaw, Henry Soukup, Henry Soukup Jr, Lynn Daigrepont, and Jack Goldman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
