Willie Mae Uptmor, age 89, of Elm Mott, passed away peacefully early Friday morning, November 11, 2022.
A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at St. Martin's Catholic Church, with Rev. Timothy Vaverek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery in Tours. The family will receive visitors 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West.
Willie Mae was born August 15, 1933 in Massey, the daughter of Charlie and Jessie (Machac) Flaherty. She was a 1951 graduate of Bynum High School. On August 7, 1954 she was united in marriage to Ambrose "Ham" Uptmor in Tours. Ambrose preceded her in death on June 15, 2012. Willie was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellmead for many years. She worked for Texas Home Health Care in Elm Mott for 18 years. Willie Mae enjoyed one day gambling trips, reading, dancing, working in the flower beds, and gardening. She loved spending time with her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Willie is also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Michael Uptmor; brothers, Charlie "Sonny" Flaherty, Jr. and Alphonse Flaherty; sisters, Angeline Flaherty, Catherine Bajer and Elizabeth Kunkel; and a grandson, Turner Uptmor.
Survivors include her children, Brenda Price and husband Ronnie of Elm Mott, Paul Uptmor of Elm Mott, and Leon Uptmor and wife Tonya of Lorena; grandchildren, Tanner Uptmor, Tate Uptmor, Emerson Uptmor, Crystal Stanford and husband Tye, Cari Detlefsen and husband Clint, Madison Uptmor, and Makayla Uptmor; great grandchildren, Hayden Stanford, Katye Stanford, Allana Stanford, Maesyn Detlefsen, and Zach Detlefsen; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers are Tanner Uptmor, Tate Uptmor, Makayla Uptmor, Madison Uptmor, Hayden Stanford, Crystal Stanford, and Cari Detlefsen. Honorary pallbearers are Milton Flaherty and Steven Flaherty.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Martin's Cemetery Association.
