Wayne Gibson

Wayne Gibson, age 81, of Aquilla, passed away early Monday morning, November 18, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Dr. John Crowder officiating. Burial will follow at Lebanon Cemetery near Aquilla. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Wayne was born March 10, 1932 in Aquilla, the son of William O. and Hazel (Galyen) Gibson. He attended school in Aquilla and was a 1951 graduate of Aquilla High School. On January 5, 1952 he was united in marriage to Charlene McQueen in West. He served his country with the United States Army. Wayne was a rancher for most of his life. He also worked for M&M Mars in Waco for over 10 years before retiring in 1988. He enjoyed fishing and especially loved spending time with his family. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his beloved wife of 61years, Charlene Gibson of Aquilla; two sons, Don Gibson and wife Alice and David Gibson and wife Jimmie Sue, all of Aquilla; a daughter, Vicki Miles and husband Roger of Elm Mott; a sister, Barbara Cypert and husband Charles; grandchildren, Rebecca Nickell and husband Joe, James Miles and wife Molly and Brazos Gibson; great grandsons, Garrett and Levi Nickell; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Brazos Gibson, James Miles, Joe Nickell, Clay Simmons, Jeff Cypert and Daniel Burleson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
