Victor Pavlas, Jr.

Victor G. Pavlas Jr., age 92, of Abbott, passed away early Monday morning, February 27, 2023 at Providence Hospital in Waco.


A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 3, 2023 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott, with Rev. Stephen Nesrsta as celebrant. Burial will follow at Fatima Cemetery near Abbott.


Victor was born September 9, 1930 in Hill County, near the Brooken Community, the son of Lillian (Snapka) and Victor Pavlas Sr. He attended schools in Abbott. On November 9, 1953 he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Beseda in Abbott. Mary Ann preceded him in death on April 12, 2019. Victor proudly served his country with the United States Army National Guard and was awarded the "best of his unit". He was a lifelong member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Victor was also a member of the Knight of Columbus Council #2305 and KJT Society #31. He was a farmer for his whole life. Victor enjoyed listening and playing Czech music, farming, tending to his cattle, watching videos, and wrestling. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was known for playing the accordion and being a member of "The Victor Pavlas Melody Masters".


Victor is also preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Nancy Kasberg; and a brother, Charlie Pavlas.


Survivors include his daughter, Cindy Psencik and husband Mark; a son-in-law, Mike Kasberg; a sister, Willie Mae Polansky and husband Sam; two sisters-in-law, Martha Beseda and Lil Pavlas; his grandchildren, Stephen and Katelyn Kasberg, Greg and Stacey Kasberg, Douglas and Haley Psencik, and Katie and Michael Holcomb; his great grandchildren, Tatum, Madison, Colin, Kaylyn, Presley, Emily, Miles, and Elliot; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


Active pallbearers are Stephen Kasberg, Greg Kasberg, Douglas Psencik, Michael Holcomb, Jacob Polansky and Chad Kaska. Honorary pallbearers are Sam Polansky, Mike Kasberg and Charles Beseda.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church or the West Volunteer Ambulance Association.
