Shelby Webre

Shelby (Janek) Webre, age 32, of Abbott, passed away late Friday evening, March 22, 2024 at St. David North Austin Medical Center in Austin after a courageous battle with cancer.


A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Monday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Shelby will lie-in-state at the church in Abbott from 2:00 p.m. until the start of the rosary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Thomas Jones as celebrant, assisted by Deacon Terry Timmons. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near West.


Shelby was born August 2, 1991 in Waco, the daughter of David "Rudy" and Eileen "Ellie" (Kocian) Janek. She was a 2009 graduate of West High School and attended McLennan Community College, prior to earning an Environmental Technology Degree from TSTC. On June 27, 2015 she was united in marriage to Scott Webre in West. Shelby was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott. She was the owner and operator of The County Line Events Venue near West for the past 5 years. Shelby enjoyed being outdoors and watching and feeding her hummingbirds. She loved spending time with friends and family, especially her beloved sons. She was loved by all who knew her and known for being an avid music fan.


Shelby is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, George P. and Josephine (Prikryl) Kocian; her paternal grandfather, Rudy T. Janek; and her grandfathers-in-law, Freddie Machac and Louis Webre Sr.


Survivors include her beloved husband of 9 years, Scott Webre of Abbott; the light of her life her sons, Adam and Jake Webre; her parents, David "Rudy" and Eileen Janek; her parents-in-law, Tommy and Trish Webre; a sister, Becky McGee; a brother, Jared Janek; a brother-in-law, James Webre; a sister-in-law, Stacy Baker and husband Shane; a niece, Lauren McGee; her grandmothers-in-law, Dorothy Machac and Margaret Webre; and many other relatives and friends.


Active pallbearers are Ron Janek, Stephen Janek, Dennis Janek, Ryan Janek, Tim Kocian, and Jason Barton. Honorary pallbearers are her friends from West High School Class of 2009.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a scholarship fund for her sons.
