Ruth Clewis, age 95, of West, formerly of Richardson, passed away Thursday evening, January 25, 2007 at West Rest Haven, where she resided for the past four years. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, 2301 North Sylvania Ave. in Fort Worth, with the Rev. Gerald Ware officiating. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Mrs. Clewis was born June 26, 1911 in Thornton, Texas, Limestone County to J. D. and Ella (Jones) Bell. On December 24, 1935 she was united in marriage to Scott Clewis in Limestone County. He preceded her in death on June 21, 1976. Before moving to West, she retired in Richardson, Texas where she has been a member of the First Baptist Church of Richardson for thirty years. She was active in The Goldenaires Senior Adult Choir and Triple E. She is also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include one son, Glenn Williams and wife Bonnie of Kennedale; two daughters, Yvonne Kee and husband Max of Plano and Nelda Tanner and husband Bacil of West; nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. For those desiring, the family has suggested donations be made to the First Baptist Church of West Funeral Fund or Building Fund, or to a charity of your choice. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the staff and volunteers at West Rest Haven for the love and care given to our mother.
