Ross S. Tennison

Ross S. Tennison, age 80, of Waco, passed away Wednesday morning, April 13, 2011 at Texas Nursing and Rehab in Waco. Graveside services will be held 9:30 a.m. Friday at White Rock Cemetery near Ross, with Chaplain Ronald Hill officiating. Mr. Tennison was born September 6, 1930 in West, the son of Charlie and Mary Frances (Shoemaker) Tennison. He attended schools in West. He served his country with the United States Marine Corp during World War II. On November 11, 1948 he was united in marriage to Daisy Dee Sisk in Ft. Worth. She preceded him in death on March 22, 2002. Ross has a long career with the Union Pacific Railroad until an injury forced him to retire in 1970. He was a Master Mason with the Grand Lodge of Texas, a member of the Ft. Worth Masonic Lodge #148 and a Shriner. He enjoyed traveling and horseback riding. Ross is also preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, John Tennison, Bernard Tennison, Billy Joe Tennison, and Pat Neff Tennison; and three sisters, Lovie Thomas, Ella Penuel, and Ruth Cowan. Survivors include three daughters, Edna Louise Robertson and husband Jimmy of Forestburg, Doiline Eatman and husband John of Ft. Worth, and Linda Fernandez and husband Pat of Apple Valley, CA; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
