Nancy Bettinger

Nancy Bettinger, age 66, of Gholson, passed away early Sunday morning, May 17, 2009 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West, with Chaplain Suzanne Smith and Helen Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Gholson Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Nancy was born September 21, 1942 in Waco, the daughter of Ernest Woodrow and Cleo (Chandler) Holder. She attended school in Gholson and on August 25, 1956 she was united in marriage to James Lee Bettinger in Waco. Nancy was a homemaker and worked on the family farm. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gholson. She enjoyed fishing, gambling, cards, dominoes, and especially loved spending time with her family. Her parents; a son, Rodney Bettinger; a brother, Ken Holder; and an infant sister, Joann Holder; all preceded her in death. Survivors include her beloved husband of 52 years, James L. Bettinger of Gholson; two sons, Darren Bettinger and wife Donna of China Spring and Randy Bettinger of London, Ontario, Canada; a brother, Larry Holder of Gholson; a sister-in-law, Joann Holder of Whitney; four grandchildren, Jenna Bettinger, Katie Bettinger, Jacob Bettinger, and Jeremy Londenberg; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Jeremy Londenberg, Alan Buchanan, Robby Guinn, Tim Witt, Charles Thornal, Scott McCartney and Melvin Peacock. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Providence Hospice.
